We all have our preconceived notions about certain zodiac signs. I mean, I write articles based on some of these notions. Some of the conceptions are so deeply ingrained in us that we end up treating people a certain way. I have had people physically and deliberately walk away from me when they learn that I’m an Aries. (We are nice, I promise!) Are these beliefs warranted? There must be a kernel of truth to them right? Well, let’s discuss it.
We have already jammed out to a Taurean playlist, and explored the earth sign’s tarot cards. But today, we are going to talk about stereotypes most commonly attributed to the bodacious bull. Are they stubborn control freaks who have to be in charge of everything? Or are they sweet-natured mom friends who love good company and good food?
In the last few hours of Taurus season, (Gemini season officially starts at 9:20pm EST) let us dive a little deeper and see what makes these helpful homemakers tick. And if your sun, moon, or rising sign is in Taurus, then this is the article for you!
Taurus: The Homemaker of the Zodiac
Try to picture a Taurus in your mind. Maybe you are picturing a person with a calming yet commanding presence. They somehow manage to bring life to any room or party without saying a word. But that is not to say that they are the strong, silent type. They are certainly strong, but they are always ready to speak their mind; they just don’t feel the need to fill the silence because silence does not intimidate them. They intimidate silence.
Taureans are helpful, wholesome, and unapologetic hedonists. They are always ready to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, and a pair of lips to kiss. I call them the homemaker of the zodiac, because as a fixed sign, they are able to make any space that they occupy comfortable for themselves and others.
However, because they are a fixed sign they have a tendency to root themselves to the spot. They are famous for their, forgive the pun, bull-headed ways and it can be difficult to get them to change their minds. Though they will always listen to an opposing viewpoint, they will argue their own point until they are blue in the face.
But despite their obstinance, they can be quite the calming presence. They are ruled by Venus — the planet that governs our adoration, our aesthetic tastes, and our sensuality — and because of this, they can be excellent lovers and caregivers. It helps to think of them as gardeners because they tend to their loved ones. They may get a tad too aggressive with those pruning shears from time to time, but they want to make sure all of their flowers are healthy.
Taurus at Work
No matter what the assignment or project is, you can always count on a Taurean to give it their all. Like all earth signs, they tend to be perfectionists. In school, people probably tripped over themselves trying to nab a Taurus for a lab partner. They work well with people, and they excel in management positions and in customer service jobs. And I happen to know from personal experience that they make awesome editors! [Editor’s note: 😘 😘]
An immature Taurus may joke around a bit too much at work. There is nothing inherently wrong with being sociable, but their antics may distract their colleagues. They also may get discouraged and prematurely throw in the proverbial towel if they feel like they can’t perform a job perfectly.
A mature Taurus saves the jokes for the break room. They are excellent at leading by example and they always check in with their coworkers to see if they are okay. They are not ones to pull rank and they understand that the mental and emotional well-being of employees is vital to a healthy workplace. Also, they always have snacks.
Taurus in Love
Being ruled by Venus, if there is one thing that Taureans understand, it is love. Like Adele, there is nothing that they wouldn’t do to make you feel their love. I just now realized I should’ve put that song on the Taurus playlist. I mean, she is a Taurus. But I digress. For Taureans, their number one concern is their partner’s safety. They want their significant other to feel secure physically, mentally, and emotionally at all times.
An emotionally unevolved Taurus can be quite overbearing when it comes to romance. They may assert themselves into your business a bit too much. They also may have some boundary issues when it comes to intimacy because they are preoccupied with their own gratification.
An emotionally evolved Taurus honors and respects your boundaries. They present themselves as a safe and open presence. They never force you to open up or communicate; they just assure you that they are there for you when you are ready to open up to them. Also, they always have snacks.
Taurus and Friendship
On a personal note, so many of my most trusted friends have been Taureans. There must be something in their genetic make-up that makes them the quintessential mom-friends. All earth signs have “mom friend” tendencies, but Taureans are the queens of the mom friends. The only downside to their devotion is that they are not always good at expressing when they need someone to be their mom friend.
A bull-headed Taurean believes that they know what is best, and they don’t always take their friends’ desires or opinions into account. They can be a tad bit too pushy and judgemental if their friends don’t do exactly what they want them to do.
A level-headed Taurean will always offer advice, but they support whatever decisions their friends make. They only try to dominate a situation if they believe that their friend is in danger. Also, they always have snacks.
Taureans can be a little stubborn and overbearing. But at the end of the day, these gardeners want to be sure that every flower in their garden is blooming to its full potential. I am grateful for the Taureans in my life.
