It's Tuesday, and you know what that means! Read on to find out what is in the cards for you this week!

Welcome to Tarot Tuesday!

Each Tuesday I will be pulling a card from my grandmother’s tarot deck and writing about what the card could mean for the signs, broken up by element. The elements of the zodiac are Fire (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius), Earth (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn), Air (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius), and Water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces).

I may pull a card from the major arcana, representing our inner wisdom. Or I may pull a suit card, representing outside influences. I may even pull a court card signifying a specific person in your life. This card can help you set your intention for the rest of the week or it can provide a visualization of your current situation. Don’t forget to check your moon and rising signs as well as your sun sign.

This week I pulled the Justice card, the card of fairness and equity. This card belongs to the Major Arcana and it is believed that Major cards hold deeper and more specific meaning. In my grandmother’s deck, Justice is depicted as a royal or noble androgynous figure in red and green robes, holding a sword upright in one hand and scales in the other hand. However, the card may look different based on which deck you use.

Though the card’s image may vary from deck to deck, the meaning is often the same. This card represents obtaining what is owed to you and fighting for what you deserve. Justice can symbolize a legal dispute, reimbursement, or any situation where you feel like you are being treated unfairly. When Justice pops up in a reading, it can mean that you are being taken advantage of by an employer, a friend, or possibly even a family member. Justice wants you to fight and stand up for yourself. But it also wants you to let go of injustices that can’t be settled.

This card could also represent the need to take a step back and evaluate both sides of a situation if you feel like you are in the middle of a dispute between loved ones.

What This Card Means for Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

Fire signs are ruled by their passion and drive. The Justice card speaks to your need to defend yourself and your decisions.

Aries, you want to stand up for yourself but you don’t want to lose your temper or cause friction with your loved ones. If there has been tension due to a recent mishap, take a few days to clear your head before broaching the subject and offering your side of the situation.

Leo, you can be pretty obstinate and you are not always the easiest person to talk to during an argument. However, this card wants you to stand your ground, especially if you feel like you are being abused or manipulated.

Sagittarius, you can be a little judgemental towards people, especially if you have already made up your mind about a particular person or situation. This card wants you to do your best to see the other person’s side as best as you can. You may learn something you never knew before.

What This Card Means for Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)

Earth signs are ruled by their dedication and desire. The Justice card speaks to your need to provide a stable environment for yourself and your loved ones.

Taurus, you may have found yourself in the middle of a lover’s quarrel recently. Your need for peace and your need for control may be at odds with each other. This card wants you to consider your partner’s side while articulating yours. If your partner is having trouble articulating their side, you may want to suggest that they seek guidance.

Virgo, employers or close loved ones may be taking advantage of your helpfulness and industrious spirit. Now is the time to set boundaries for your own peace of mind. Remember, “no” is a complete sentence.

Capricorn, you may be finding it hard to relinquish your control. It is your defense mechanism. You may be scared that if you give up some of your control, that you will lose it completely. This fear has weakened your ability to listen to the people around you. But this card wants you to listen to other people so that you can achieve equilibrium in your relationships.

What This Card Means for Air Signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra)

Air signs are ruled by their compassion and independence. The Justice card speaks to your need to fight for those who are dealing with inequity.

Gemini, people may think that you are speaking out too much in regards to certain causes. Do not let them silence you. This card wants you to use your gift of expression to continue these important conversations.

Libra, your sign is especially connected to this card. This card wants you to be the bridge between two loved ones who may be quarreling — if you have the emotional energy to do so. Try your best to see both sides of the situation, and help them see both sides as well.

Aquarius, you have a strong desire to stand up for your friends who are dealing with injustices in their life. This is admirable, but this card wants to remind you that some, not all, injustices may never be solved. And holding on to the anger for your friends will not help them move on and live their best life.

What This Card Means for Water Signs (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio)

Water signs are ruled by their empathy and imagination. The Justice card speaks to your people-pleasing nature and your need to ensure the happiness of everyone around you.

Cancer, you are one of the most empathetic signs. You have been trying very hard to see everyone’s sides in multiple situations, but your own emotions may have been neglected. This card wants you to be empathetic to yourself.

Scorpio, you are insanely loyal to those around you. But this card wants you to examine some of your relationships and see if those people are equally as loyal to you as you are to them.

Pisces, your need to please everyone has led to people exploiting you and your kindness. Ask yourself if these people would go above and beyond for you as you do for them. If the answer is “no,” it is time to cut them out of your life.
