Welcome to Tarot Tuesday!
Each Tuesday I will be pulling a card from my grandmother’s tarot deck and writing about what it could mean for each of the zodiac signs, broken up by element.
The elements of the zodiac are Fire (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius), Earth (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn), Air (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius), and Water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces).
I may pull a card from the major arcana, representing our inner wisdom. Or I may pull a suit card, representing outside influences. I may even pull a court card signifying a specific person in your life.
This card can help you set your intention for the rest of the week or it can provide a visualization of your current situation. Don’t forget to check your moon and rising signs as well as your sun sign.
The Ace of Wands
This week I pulled the Ace of Wands card. This is the card of inspiration. In tarot, an Ace — or the number one — represents innovation and opportunity. When an Ace card is pulled, it usually means the arrival of a positive change. An Ace card also denotes good fortune or a renewal of energy.
Wands are the suit of creativity and independence. A wand card represents a need to pursue your own artistic desires and joy. It could also represent travel and success. When a wand card pops up in a reading, it symbolizes personal achievement.
The Ace of Wands indicates a joyful opportunity and usually means that we are being given a chance to pursue a creative career or hobby. This could be a career in the arts or it could be a hobby that you had once abandoned. This card can also represent a promotion or a chance to travel. When this card pops up, it could be telling you to go after these pursuits with confidence and enthusiasm. This card wants you to take a leap of faith.
What This Card Means For Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
Fire signs are ruled by their passion and drive. This card may hold more significance for you because the Wands are the suit of fire. The Ace of Wands speaks to your originality and represents your need to create.
Aries, you are driven by your creativity and this card is encouraging you to write, paint, sculpt, sew, or knit. If you have been feeling the urge to revisit an old or unfinished product, now may be the time.
Leo, if you have been feeling inspired to perform lately, this card wants you to tackle those dreams head-on. Your desire to entertain has laid dormant in you for a while, but now it is time to act, dance, and sing your heart out.
Sagittarius, you may share a desire with your fellow fire signs to create and entertain. But you may not feel inspired quite yet. A change of scenery or an impromptu road trip can help get those creative juices flowing.

Earth signs are ruled by their dedication and desire. The Ace of Wands speaks to your confidence and self-worth and represents the pride you should take in yourself.
Taurus, you have been working long and hard to give yourself a sense of security and stability. If presented with the opportunity to pursue your artistic interests, this card wants you to seize it.
Virgo, lately you may have been struggling with imposter syndrome despite receiving high praise from your friends and professional peers. If the possibility for a promotion arises, this card wants you to have the confidence to accept it.
Capricorn, you have been wanting to spearhead a project at work for a while now, but you have been waiting for the opportune time to broach the subject. That time may be closer than you think. Go for it!
What This Card Means For Air Signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra)
Air signs are ruled by their compassion and independence. The Ace of Wands speaks to your ability to think outside of the box and represents your desire for personal fulfillment.
Aquarius, you have an intense need to get away for a day or two. You have been stuck in a rut for a little while, but this card wants you to travel somewhere where you can meet new people and learn new things.
Gemini, you want to communicate with others. This card wants you to indulge in your love of the written word. You may even feel inspired to dabble in a spoken word activity, like stand-up comedy or slam poetry.
Libra, for you, this card is all about following your bliss. You are usually content to go with the flow, but this card wants you to forge your path and pursue the things that mentally and emotionally stimulate you.
What This Card Means For Water Signs (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio)
Water signs are ruled by their empathy and imagination. The Ace of Wands speaks to your love of art and music and represents your need for emotional gratification.
Pisces, it is time to satiate your need for music and poetry. You may have been bottling up your emotions more than usual lately, but this card wants you to channel those emotions into lyrics or a poem.
Cancer, you may have been finding it hard to relax and enjoy the things that bring you happiness and peace. Now would be the perfect time to compile a playlist of all of your favorite songs. Sit back and let yourself get lost in the music that brings you joy.
Scorpio, you just can not seem to sit still lately. You are too overcome by your desire to move. This card wants you to express yourself through the art of dance or creative movement. You can go out dancing with friends or maybe go to the ballet. Tis’ the season for The Nutcracker.
