Welcome to Tarot Tuesday!
Each Tuesday I will be pulling a card from my grandmother’s tarot deck and writing about what the card could mean for the signs, broken up by element. The elements of the zodiac are Fire (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius), Earth (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn), Air (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius), and Water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces).
I may pull a card from the major arcana, representing our inner wisdom. Or I may pull a suit card, representing outside influences. I may even pull a court card signifying a specific person in your life. This card can help you set your intention for the rest of the week or it can provide a visualization of your current situation. Don’t forget to check your moon and rising signs as well as your sun sign.
Nine of Pentacles
This week I pulled the Nine of Pentacles card. The card depicts a well-dressed feminine figure surrounded by coins and fertile land, with a bird perched on their hand — though the depictions may vary according to your deck. In tarot, the number nine symbolizes excellence, self-assuredness, and independence. When a nine comes up in a reading it can mean success in your creative or personal endeavors. It can also mean that you will no longer accept being treated as if you are second best in any aspect of your life.
Pentacles are the suit of dependability and material comforts. This suit often symbolizes home, family, and ambitious or occupational pursuits. When a Pentacle card pops up, it usually represents the need for common sense and practicality. The Nine of Pentacles is the card of wish fulfillment and financial stability. This card assures you that you have the power to ensure your own success and accomplish the goals that you have been working towards. This card also wants you to set boundaries with people who refuse to take personal responsibility for themselves.

What This Card Means for Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
Fire signs are ruled by their passion and drive. The Nine of Pentacles speaks to your intense need for creative freedom in your endeavors.
Aries, trust your newfangled instincts. You know in your heart how you should approach the next step in pursuit of your goals. Do not feel pressured into taking someone else’s unsolicited advice.
Leo, you know your worth. You have been excelling in your personal and professional life. Do not let anyone gaslight you into thinking that your success is unwarranted or your work is sub-par.
Sagittarius, you may feel Imposter Syndrome creeping into your thoughts. You may feel like you do not deserve your success. Try your best to banish it. I know that is easier said than done. But you earned your accomplishments and no one should rain on your parade. Especially not you.
What This Card Means for Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
Earth signs are ruled by their dedication and desire. This card may hold more significance for you because the Pentacles are the suit of earth. The Nine of Pentacles speaks to your self-confidence and your need for emotional and economic security.
Taurus, you are making great strides in ensuring your fiscal stability and you should be very proud of your hard work. But be wary of people who might want to coerce you into sacrificing your physical and mental health for a job.
Virgo, you have your personal and professional life firmly under control. You feel confident in all that you have accomplished. Do not let anyone dull your shine or try to convince you that you are not doing enough.
Capricorn, this card is perfect for you and it was pulled right smack dab in the middle of your season. You don’t need to be reminded of your self-worth because you are acutely aware of your irreplaceability. This card wants you to know that you are on the right track.

Air signs are ruled by their compassion and independence. The Nine of Pentacles speaks to your need for self-expression and occupational liberty.
Gemini, the time has come to communicate your needs and desires with your professional and social circles. You know what you want, but you will never get it if you do not use your gift of eloquence to speak up for yourself.
Libra, you are ruled by Venus so you are naturally a hopeless romantic. Lately you may have been trying to maintain peace and harmony in your relationships at the cost of your own happiness. You deserve the same care that you give your loved ones.
Aquarius, you have long dreamed of a life where you can be sustainably self-employed. The opportunity may pop up when you least expect it. If it does, do not be afraid to leap at the chance.
What This Card Means for Water Signs (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio)
Water signs are ruled by their empathy and imagination. The Nine of Pentacles speaks to your need for emotional and professional boundaries.
Cancer, you have accomplished so many creative projects this year. The powers-that-be have taken notice. They may ask you to take on projects that will bring you very little financial and emotional joy. Try to push your own projects instead of taking on someone else’s.
Scorpio, you spoil your loved ones with attention but you may not be receiving the attention that you deserve. If someone close to you can’t see how fabulous you are, it is time to remind them.
Pisces, you try so hard to take care of everyone else’s emotional needs that now people are starting to take your kindness for granted. Remember that you can’t pour from an empty cup. “No” is a complete sentence.
