Welcome to Tarot Tuesday!
Each Tuesday I will be pulling a card from my grandmother’s tarot deck and writing about what the card could mean for the signs, broken up by element. The elements of the zodiac are Fire (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius), Earth (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn), Air (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius), and Water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces). I may pull cards that I have pulled before, but that doesn’t mean that the individual sign readings will be the same as before. The readings will also correlate with which sign the moon is in currently and which houses the signs and presently reside in.
I may pull a card from the major arcana, representing our inner wisdom. Or I may pull a suit card, representing outside influences. I may even pull a court card signifying a specific person in your life. This card can help you set your intention for the rest of the week or it can provide a visualization of your current situation. The King of Pentacles
This week I once again pulled the King of Swords. Kings often represent an older masculine figure such as a father, romantic partner, or an authority figure. They also represent power and success in attaining your goals. However, they can also represent stubbornness or a bully.
Pentacles are the suit of dependability and material comforts. This suit often symbolizes home, family, and ambitious or occupational pursuits. When a Pentacle card pops up, it usually represents the need for common sense and practicality.
In my grandmother’s deck, the King of Pentacles is super colorful! The card is often depicted as a regal masculine figure. The King wears a long robe decorated with green leaves, red berries, and blue vines. He is surrounded by verdant vines and shrubberies that seem to blend in with his cloak. He sits on a dark throne with gold and silver bull heads carved into it. In the background sits a majestic shine castle with red and blue turrets.
Though the card’s image may vary from deck to deck, the meaning is often the same. The King of Pentacles card represents practicality and financial stability. It can also represent a supportive and loving masculine figure in your life. They may be a romantic partner, a family member, employer, or just someone who wants to assist you. This is a person whom you can rely on. This card can also symbolize a promotion or success in a business venture.
However, the King of Pentacles can represent greed or someone who is willing to throw others under the proverbial bus in pursuit of success. It can also symbolize someone who is hesitant to travel.
What This Card Means For Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
Fire signs are ruled by their passion and drive. The King of Pentacles speaks to your desire for a person or place who makes you feel like you can rest, recharge, and feel safe.
Aries, this card wants you to swallow your pride and rely on a familial figure who is eager to help you accomplish your goals.
Leo, this card wants you to allow your loved ones or significant others to help you. You can’t do everything on your own.
Sagittarius, if there is a person in your life who is trying to give you advice, try not to take the advice as criticism. This card wants you to take it as encouragement.
What This Card Means For Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
Earth signs are ruled by their dedication and desire. This card may hold more significance for you because the Pentacles are the suit of earth. The King of Pentacles wants you to find a person who you can communicate your physical or tangible needs with.
Taurus, this card wants you to reach out to your community if you are in need of assistance. No one will know to help you if you don’t ask for help.
Virgo, this card wants YOU to be the King of Pentacles. Reach out to those in your community who may be in need of assistance.
Capricorn, this card wants you to open up the lines of communication with your loved ones. You are all in need of emotional and physical support.
What This Card Means For Air Signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra)
Air signs are ruled by their compassion and independence. The King of Pentacles speaks to your desire for personal and professional success.
Aquarius, you are working hard for your job and career and people are noticing. Don’t be afraid to ask for a little recognition or possibly even a promotion.
Gemini, this card wants you to be careful not to prioritize material wealth and possessions over the people whom you care about.
Libra, this card wants you to chase your ambitions. But beware of colleagues who would betray your trust. And be sure not to betray others as well.
What This Card Means For Water Signs (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio)
Water signs are ruled by their empathy and imagination. The King of Pentacles speaks to your desire to follow your dreams and ambitions.
Pisces, this card wants you to know that it is possible to make a living by following your dreams as long as you have a plan and a good support system.
Cancer, much like with Aries, this card wants you to seek the help of a familial figure who can support you, make you feel safe, and/or help you chase your goals.
Scorpio, this card wants you to spend time with a certain familial figure. They may have stories and important insights that they need to share with you.
