There’s truly nothing better on a hot summer day than going to your local Starbucks and picking up a delicious iced coffee. Not only does it taste great, but it cools you down and gives you your caffeine boost for the day. But what if you don’t like coffee? Well don’t worry, there are options for you.
From season favorites to tried and true staples, here are Starbucks’ recommendations for every type of coffee (or non-coffee) drinker.
Don’t Like the Taste of Coffee? Try the Refreshers or an Iced Chai Instead
If you’re looking for a Starbucks drink that’ll quench your thirst and cool you down on a hot summer’s day, try a Refresher!
They have everything from Mango Dragonfruit to Strawberry Acai to Dragon Pink available this summer. This is also a great option if you’re looking for something with caffeine but don’t necessarily want a coffee.
Along with the Starbucks Refreshers, another option for non-coffee drinkers is an iced chai. It’s got caffeine, it’s fairly sweet, but it tastes nothing like coffee.
Don’t Want Caffeine? You Actually Have More Options Than You Think!
It can be hard for people who don’t want to drink caffeine to find beverages they like at Starbucks. In fact, many think their only option is just a decaf coffee. However, it turns out there are a lot of options for the decaf drinkers of the world.
As it turns out, every single espresso drink can be made with decaf espresso beans, which means any latte, mocha, cappuccino, americano, or flat white beverage is available as decaf. The more you know!
Want to Try a Seasonal Beverage? Give the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino a Try
Starbucks always comes out with some truly interesting seasonal drinks, and this summer is no different. They recently released their Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino, and it’s already piquing people’s interest.
What is a Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino, you ask? Well, it’s Starbucks’s classic Frappuccino with strawberry puree, whipped cream, and funnel-cake syrup. Oh, and it’s topped with powdered sugar and pieces of funnel cake.
“We wanted to capture the joy of this time of year, and we thought about those simple pleasures that really encapsulate summer,” Sara Bennett, senior product developer for the Starbucks R&D team, said in a news release.
“That led us to state fairs and funnel cake – just wanting to channel that sense of carefree fun.”
Whether this sounds like the most disgusting drink you’ve ever heard of or this most delicious thing on earth, there’s no denying it’s an interesting idea.
Needless to say, I had to try the drink for myself. Now, I am a pretty traditional coffee drinker — I like black coffee with a little bit of french vanilla creamer. I’m also not a big Frappuccino drinker (it just tastes like a milkshake?), but I thought I’d give it a try.

While it didn’t blow me away, I didn’t dislike it either! I was worried it was going to be too sweet, but the funnel cake taste was actually pretty minimal. However, if you like your drinks to taste like coffee, this is probably not the drink for you.
All in all, I’d give the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino a 3 out of 5 stars. If you’re in the mood for a drink that tastes like a dessert, give it a try.
Want to Save Money This Summer? Try This Trick When Ordering Coffee
Coffee isn’t the cheapest thing in the world, especially if you’re routinely going to Starbucks with your friends. However, there is a little trick you and your friend can do the next time you go to Starbucks. Have one person order a Venti iced coffee or cold brew with no ice, while the other person just gets a cup of ice.
Then, all you have to do is split the Venti beverage and the ice between the two cups, and voila, you have a grande-sized coffee for half price! ?
