We’re about a month into fall! Where did the time go?
While it doesn’t quite feel like it in some of the country’s southern areas, you may already see the tell-tale signs of fall. Maybe leaves are already changing colors and falling off branches, or stores are stocked with pumpkin-scented candles and oversized sweaters.
Regardless of whether it feels like fall or not, it’s never too late to get started on all the things you want to do this season. To help you keep track, we’ve compiled a list of activities to do before fall completely slips away from you.
Have a Fall-Themed Photo Shoot
Get your creative juices pumping and try your hand at a fall-themed photo shoot. The process can go in many directions because the aesthetic is entirely up to you, and you’re in creative control!
Make it a little spooky and wear your Halloween costumes, or go with hay bundles and fall vegetables. This is also a great activity to collaborate on with friends and family. You can enjoy your fall photos all year long. Maybe you could even make a tradition of doing a photoshoot for every season!
Go To a Pumpkin Patch
What’s fall without pumpkins? Lucky for us, the season brings out a plethora of pumpkin patches, and many of them have bonus activities for the whole family to enjoy. Think corn mazes, petting zoos, inflatables, and possibly even a haunted house.
There’s nothing like enjoying a crisp autumnal breeze while sipping on apple cider on the back of a hayride. The old-fashioned, simple pleasure of an afternoon at a pumpkin patch will be a memory you’ll cherish.
Read a Fall-Themed Book
While the weather outside gets chillier, it’s natural for people to want to stay inside more. In that time, why not go on a journey through the pages of a fiction book? Within your readings, you may even get more ideas to add to your fall bucket list.
Grab a cup of hot tea and warm socks, and cozy up in a comfortable corner of your home while reading stories like Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow or The Complete Tales and Poems by Edgar Allen Poe.
Have a Bonfire
For those of you who don’t want to stay inside, you don’t necessarily have to. You can technically enjoy a fire any time of the year, but I believe bonfires make all the difference when they’re warming you up against a cold backdrop.
Grab your loved ones and ingredients for s’mores, and warm your hands and toes by the fire. Points go to whoever can tell the best spooky story!
Give Back to Your Community
With Thanksgiving and many family-centered festivities throughout the fall, it’s hard not to feel an immense sense of gratitude. While you’re warming your body with sweaters and hot drinks, warm your heart by sharing the love.
With dropping temperatures, more people may need help to by. And this time of year can be even more challenging for the lonely. Take the time this season to give back by volunteering at a soup kitchen, hosting a donation drive, or spending time with the elderly.
