I firmly believe that witch movies should be considered its own genre. Not all of them are Halloween movies and not all of them are horror movies. But all of them are fun to watch!

Aries – Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Aries will adore this film because they are known for having a fighting spirit. They are vivacious and courageous. Does that sound like a certain Nazi-fighting witch that we know? Just like the feisty and fiery Eglantine, Aries are eager to stand up and protect the ones they love. The cardinal fire signs are always ready to ride their brooms into battle.
I can’t mention this film, without honoring the late, great Libra Angela Lansbury, who portrayed the persevering witch perfectly. We will miss you Eglantine! Oh, how you’ll shine.
Taurus – Love Witch
To paraphrase a rather insightful online movie reviewer, Kyle Kallgren, this movie was filmed on location inside of a cake. If the gorgeous visuals of this film don’t win over the fixed sign, the main character surely will. I often describe Taurus as being wholesomely hedonistic. And if that description does not fit Elaine to a T, I don’t know what does. Much like the earthy sign, Elaine knows the importance of a fabulous aesthetic, delicious food, and, of course, love!
Gemini – The Worst Witch
There are a few reasons I paired this film with the mutable sign. First, this film features the rivalry between two twin witches, which is perfect for a sign represented by The Twins. Second, the film takes place in a magical academy, which will appeal to the studious air sign. Third, the star of the movie, Fairuza Balk is a Gemini!

Cancer – Practical Magic
Cancerians are known to be mom-friends who will do anything to protect their chosen and/or biological family. So they will appreciate this film’s message of sisterhood. As water signs, Cancerians tend to be romantics, so they will also enjoy the love story between Sally and Officer Hallet.
Also, the moon children will identify with the line “there is no man Gilly, only that moon.”
Leo – Teen Witch
I bet you haven’t thought about this weird 80’s movie in a while. Louise embodies the fixed fire sign in her desire to be the most popular girl in school. In true Leo fashion, she is generous with her magical abilities and loves theatre. Let’s be real, a Leo would totally use their magical powers to be the most popular girl in school. I mean what could possibly top that?
Virgo – The Crucible
You may want to argue that this film is not really a witch movie because none of the characters are actually witches. But it is a fictional take on one of the most infamous witch events in our country’s history, so it makes the list. Virgos will love this movie mainly because of Elizabeth Proctor. They will be able to identify with her over-critical, pragmatic and loyal nature. Also, I’m sure that a Virgo’s mercy could freeze beer.
Libra – Beautiful Creatures
Libras are represented as The Scales, so they are particularly dedicated to balance and justice. That is why they will love this movie that follows a young witch (or caster, as they like to call themselves) as she tries to find a balance between the light and dark aspects of her personality.
This film was a lot better than people give it credit for.
Scorpio – The VVitch

Scorpio season starts right at the spookiest time of year when it is believed that the veil between the physical world and the spiritual world is at its thinnest. So naturally, I had to pair them with the spookiest movie on this list. Scorpios will love the dark themes and will be able to identify with Thomasin’s choice to join the naked-dancing witches in the forest.
Sagittarius – The Craft
We got two Fairuza Balk movies on this list! I know I said earlier that she is a Gemini, but her ascendant is in Sagittarius! I have often called Sagittarius the dark horse of the zodiac, so they will be able to identify with main characters who are considered outcasts at their school. They will also appreciate the introspective themes of personal responsibility and karmic retribution.
Capricorn – Kiki’s Delivery Service
Capricorns will enjoy many of the characters in this movie, but obviously they will relate to Kiki the most. Kiki’s charisma and industriousness make her the perfect Capricorn. If she is not able to win people over with her helpful attitude, she manages to do so with her charm. She is an example to other Capricorn witches that kindness is the greatest magic of all.
Aquarius – Into the Dark: Pure
Aquarians will be quite intrigued with this Hulu original. Like the fixed earth sign, Shay is a bit of an outsider in the world that she is thrust into. But by claiming her own power, she is able to seek justice for herself and her community. Shay reminds us that if you can’t be a social justice warrior, be a social justice witch!
Pisces – Hocus Pocus
Pisces are known to have a well-developed sense of nostalgia, so they will absolutely love this incredibly nostalgic film. The mutable water sign is also quite sweet-natured and emotional, so the film’s portrayal of older brothers doing whatever they can to protect their younger siblings will bring a tear to their eye. They will also get a kick out of the musical numbers.

Ophiuchus – Bewitched
Ophiuchus is not a real sign, and this film adaptation starring Will Ferrel and Nicole Kidman should not be a real movie.
Also, Samantha deserved better than Darren. She was so powerful that in one episode she was slated to become the queen of the witches and she wanted to give all of that up for Darren?! I mean, I would get it if he was, like, nice to her. But he was so controlling and condescending. Samantha deserved better! Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.
