The new season of American Horror Story premieres tonight! So let’s celebrate the long awaited AHS: New York by pairing some of the iconic characters with the zodiac signs.
Since we are smack dab in the middle of the season of the witch, let’s pair the signs with the witchy characters from AHS: Coven and it’s sort of sequel AHS: Apocalypse.
Don’t forget to check your moon and rising as well as your sun sign. You can check your birth chart here.
Aries- Marie Laveau
Aries gets paired not only with one of the most powerful witches on this list, but with the only character on the list who is based on a real person. The cardinal fire sign gets paired with the Voodoo Queen because of her fiery disposition, her undying devotion and loyalty to her community, and her ability to hold a grudge.

Taurus- Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt
I often call Taureans wholesome hedonists and I feel like that’s the perfect way to describe Coco. When we first meet Coco, we are led to believe that she is a spoiled heiress. But as season eight progresses we get to see her more wholesome side. Her more hedonistic side is demonstrated through her love of luxury and her unique food-related magical abilities.
Gemini- Stevie Nicks
I feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory. The beautiful and incomparable Stevie Nicks has her sun, Mercury, and Uranus signs in Gemini. So I had to pair the fictionalized witchy version of herself with the wordsmith of the zodiac. Plus Geminis are known to be true poets, and we get to hear her sing her poetic lyrics in not one but two seasons of American Horror Story.
Also, she was one of the best parts of AHS: Apocalypse.
Cancer- Queenie
In my humble opinion, Queenie is one of the best characters in the show. Queenie, a.k.a. The human voodoo doll gets paired with the moon children due to her compassionate nature. She shows a tremendous amount of compassion to people who don’t always deserve it. Like the cardinal water sign, she tends to be a little cynical, but can you really blame her after all the stuff she has had to put up with.
Leo- Myrtle Snow
Leo had to be paired with the character that has the most fabulous hair in the show. Like Leo, Myrtle can be quite obstinate and theatrical. But she is also quite generous and warm-hearted towards the witches whom she takes under her wing. Plus, only a Leo would shout “BALENCIAGA” at the top of their lungs upon being burned at the stake.
Virgo- Cordelia Foxx
Cordelia is pragmatic and kind natured. So naturally I had to pair her with Virgo. Virgos are mutable signs which means they are adaptable. And Cordelia is nothing if not adaptable. She easily transitions from goody-two shoes head mistress to powerful supreme over the course of the third season.
Libra- Mallory
Like a Libra, Mallory appears to be a sweet and unassuming people pleaser at the beginning of AHS: Apocalypse. But as the season progresses we soon come to find out she is one of the only witches powerful enough to save the world. Much like the cardinal air sign, Mallory is unaware of how powerful she truly is.
Scorpio- Nan
Nan gets paired with Scorpio because she is sweet like all water signs are. But, like the fixed water sign, she is pretty vengeful. She was pretty ruthless when she killed the evil neighbor lady, but as Fiona said “the b**** had it coming. And though she is sweet natured, she radiates Scorpio energy when she gleefully accepts the role as Papa Legba’s emissary.
Sagittarius- Madison Montgomery
You are probably wondering why I didn’t pair the movie star Madison Montgomery with Leo. Well, as fire signs, Sagittarians are known to be quite entertaining in their own right. They are also known to be broody, introspective, and indiscreet. And though, Madison isn’t very self-aware in the beginning of AHS: Coven, she becomes a bit more reflective after being resurrected from the dead.
Capricorn- Fiona Goode
Like Capricorn, Fiona Goode is powerful, charismatic, and fiercely protective over her loved ones…to a point. But also like the cardinal fire sign, she can be incredibly self-involved. Though she does have a modicum of love for those around her, she mainly sees her family and allies as a means to an end.
Aquarius- Misty Day
Aquarians are often stereotyped as loners. Like the fixed air sign, Misty Day can be classified as an outcast in many ways. She was ostracized from her religious community and she was also seen as an outsider by the other witches. But also like Aquarius, Misty is quite compassionate and yearns for friendship and a sense of belonging.
Pisces- Zoe Benson
Zoe was a bit hard to place. But I ultimately paired her with Pisces because she can be quite sensitive and emotional. She also tends to be a bit of a pushover…,
until she is pushed too far that is. Pisces are also known to be escapist and at the behest of Myrtle, she and Kyle try to escape New Orleans for their own safety and happiness.
Ophiuchus- Dinah Stevens
Dinah Stevens is NOT nor will she ever be the true Voodoo Queen, just like Ophiuchus is not a real zodiac sign.
