We all have our preconceived notions about certain zodiac signs. I mean, I write articles based on some of these notions. Some of the conceptions are so deeply ingrained in us that we end up treating people a certain way. I have had people physically and deliberately walk away from me when they learn that I’m an Aries. (We are nice, I promise!) Are these beliefs warranted? There must be a kernel of truth to them right? Well, let’s discuss it.
Today, we are going to talk about stereotypes most commonly attributed to Gemini. Are they unpredictable wild-cards who are incapable of making decisions? Or are they kind-hearted poets who seek out and revel in new and interesting ideas?

Gemini: The Wordsmith of the Zodiac
Try to picture a Gemini in your mind. Maybe you are picturing a writer sitting in a coffee shop, hammering away at their manuscript. Or maybe you are picturing a bundle of energy hastily jumping from one decision to the next. Geminis have earned a reputation for never being able to make up their minds, but is this assumption fair? Let’s discuss it!
Geminis are sweet-natured, sympathetic, and incredibly studious. They are always eager to learn new things, especially if it pertains to something they are already interested in. They are ruled by Mercury, the planet that governs our communication. So they are quite eloquent and often feel the need to express themselves through the written or spoken word. They value all forms of communication above almost everything else.
However, being ruled by Mercury tends to make them…mercurial. Geminis are a mutable sign, and some may even consider them THE mutable sign due to their unpredictable ways. But they also demonstrate their mutability through their capability and adaptability. So if they seem unpredictable, it may be because they are always ready to adapt to a new situation.
It’s easy to write off Geminis as flighty or erratic, but it helps to remember that their intense love of knowledge opens them up to a million possibilities. It would be hard for anyone to make a decision and stick with it if they had so many options and ideas bouncing around in their head.
It helps to think of a Gemini as a voice that is carried on the wind, because of their poetic expression and tendency to go wherever the wind of their own thoughts will take them.
Gemini at Work
As I mentioned earlier in this article, Geminis are exceptional students. In school, though they may have shown each subject the dedication it deserved, once they found a subject they could sink their teeth into, they dedicated as much attention as they could to it. At work, they excel in any position where communication is involved. They make excellent writers, copywriters, or public speakers. They also make great frontwomen for rock ‘n’ roll bands!
An immature Gemini is not always the easiest person to work with. They can be very amicable and friendly colleagues, but their lack of consistency can make them unreliable and leave their workmates with extra work to do. Also, their erratic and insecure nature can make them… well, the less said about certain former presidents the better.
A mature Gemini is not only a friendly colleague, but an absolute joy to work with. They are ready, willing, and able to accomplish every task on their list for the day, and they are able to learn daily operations quickly. But, they are always ready to pause for a quick joke to lift their workmates’ spirits.
Gemini in Love
Geminis are easy to love and they fall in love easily. Due to their sympathy and their inquisitive nature, they will never get tired of learning new things about their partner. Being one of the most talkative signs in the zodiac, they will always try to keep the lines of communication open with their significant other. And there will never be a dull moment in the relationship due to their spontaneity.
An emotionally unevolved Gemini will be open and forthcoming with their feelings. But they will not always be the best listener or receptive to their partner’s needs. Their insecurity may make it difficult for their significant other to be honest with them.
An emotionally evolved Gemini has learned the joy of hearing and understanding words as well as speaking them. They will not monopolize the conversation unless they get really excited. They will always try to make sure that their partners feel validated.
Gemini and Friendship
Sometimes you just need someone to shoot the breeze with, and that is why everyone needs a Gemini friend. Not only will the mutable air sign offer you sympathy and quite a few good jokes, but they will give you support. They always want to be the wind beneath your wings.
A flighty Gemini may want to be there for their friends, but their effort can fall short. They are the type to leave text messages on “read.” They can also be a tad bit condescending in the way they communicate.
An uplifting Gemini will be there for you, and properly communicate with you during the times when they are unable to be there for you. They are usually up for any shenanigans that their friends want to get into and they are always willing to lend an ear, an anecdote, or a bit of advice.
Geminis are like voices that are carried on the wind because of their self-expressive and communicative tendencies. The only thing bigger than their mouths and their minds are their kind hearts, and that is why I am grateful for the Geminis in my life.
