1. Female Pattern Hair Loss
This is the most common type of hair loss for both men and women. It’s caused by a change in hormones (usually as you age) and results in the classic signs of balding: thinning hair on top, a receding hairline, and/or a widening part.
2. Traction Alopecia
Traction alopecia happens when your hairstyle causes damage to the roots of your hair by rubbing or pulling. Eventually, the follicles can become so damaged that hair won’t grow back.
3. Excess Stress
Stress can trigger different types of hair loss. Taking steps to manage your stress levels is a good first step, but you should also consider talking to your doctor or a mental health professional—especially if you’ve been pulling out your own hair.
