Read on to find out with Nordic Goddess you are!

For thousands and thousands of years, human beings from various cultures worshiped pantheons of deities. We have already talked about Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Celtic Goddesses but today we are talking about the Norse goddesses. I have paired up a goddess with each zodiac sign, and yes, I have even paired up Ophiuchus. Read on to find out which Goddess you are! Don’t forget to check your moon and rising signs as well as your sun signs.

Aries – Freya, The Goddess of Love, War, and Death

Freya could probably be associated with many of the goddesses on this list because she rules over many things in her domain as a deity. But she is ultimately paired with the warrior of the zodiac because of her association with war. Aries can also probably relate to her as a goddess of love not only because of their loyal nature, but also because they are ruled by Mars, the planet of willpower, drive, and sexuality.

Taurus – Gefion, The Goddess of Fertility and Agriculture

There are a couple reasons I have paired Taureans with the goddess of fertility. Firstly, Taurus is an earth sign and Gefion is associated with the earth and agriculture. But they are also paired together because of her stubborn dedication and her association with bovine animals. Legend says that when she was disguised as a beggar woman, she was promised by the king of Sweden to be given all that four oxen could plow. Naturally, being a goddess, she was able to plow and pull the land away to create the island of Zealand.

Gemini – Gná, Handmaiden and Messenger Goddess

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet named after the Roman messenger god. So naturally, I had to pair this communicative sign with the goddess who ran errands and delivered messages for the goddess Frigg. Gná was a handmaiden to Frigg and would do her bidding riding a flying horse called Hófvarpnir.

Cancer – Eir, The Goddess of Healing and Mercy

There is a theory that Eir is not necessarily a goddess but a valkyrie. Regardless of her title, it is clear that she is important to Norse mythology. Valkyrie were tasked with carrying fallen warriors to Valhalla. It is believed that Eir did not just carry them but would try to heal them. It is for this reason that she is paired with caring and compassionate Cancer.

Leo – Sif, The Goddess of Fertility and Family

There are a lot of fertility and earth goddesses in Norse mythology, and Sif is one of them. But she is mostly remembered for being the wife of Thor and for having long golden hair like wheat. One could say that her hair was reminiscent of a lion’s mane, but that is not the only reason she is paired with Leo. Legend has it that after Loki shore her hair, he was forced by Thor to replace it. She was then given a headpiece of the finest golden strands. Which you have to admit is a total Leo power move.

Virgo – Fulla, Handmaiden and Guardian of the Ashen Box

Like Gná, Fulla is another handmaiden to Frigg, but she is no ordinary handmaiden. She is said to be Frigg’s favorite and most trusted confidant. So trusted in fact, she is given the honor of watching over Frigg’s sacred ashen box. So of course, I had to pair her with one of the kindest and most loyal signs in the zodiac.

Libra – Frigg, The Goddess of Love and Motherhood

Shutterstock

Libra is ruled by Venus, so they are often associated with love and harmony. But they are also a cardinal sign so they are associated with leadership. It is for these reasons and many others that I have paired them with Odin’s wife and the Goddess of Love, Frigg. Frigg was known to be loving, doting, and diplomatic which are three traits that could easily describe Libra.

Scorpio – Hel, The Goddess of The Underworld

Shutterstock

Scorpios are probably excited to be paired with the Cate Blanchett goddess! Scorpios are known to be broody and vengeful. They are also ruled by Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth. So naturally, I had to pair them with the goddess of the underworld, who was known to rule over the wicked souls and those who did not die in battle.

Sagittarius – Snotra- Handmaiden and The Goddess of Wisdom

Shutterstock

Snotra is believed by some to be another one of Frigg’s handmaidens, but she is also said to be the goddess of wisdom and learning. I paired the mutable fire sign with this goddess due to their sagely ways and their dedication to philosophy and education. She is also seen as a goddess of patience and hospitality, which will speak to Sagittarians’ charitable nature.

Capricorn – Jörd- The Goddess and Personification of The Earth

Shutterstock

Jörd is the mother of Thor and is seen as not only an earth goddess but the personification of Earth itself, considering her name means “earth” or “land.” She is also considered a giantess. As the cardinal earth sign, Capricorn will relate to her earthly nature and her grandiosity.

Aquarius – Hlin, Handmaiden and Protector

Shutterstock

The fixed air sign is paired with the last handmaiden on this list. Hlin was known as “The Protector” because she was often sent out by Frigg to look after those whom the goddess wanted to protect from danger. Aquarians will relate to the compassionate and humanitarian nature of the goddess.

Pisces – Sigyn, Loki’s Wife

Shutterstock

I bet some of you did not know that Loki had a wife. It is hard to find what exactly she is the goddess of, but I paired her with Pisces due to her empathetic nature. When Loki is chained to a rock and forced to have painful venom drip on his head, Sigyn holds a basin over her husband to catch the venom and lessen the pain.

Ophiuchus- Asatru Folk Assembly

Ophiuchus is not a real zodiac sign, and the Asatru Folk Assembly are white supremacists parading as pagans. Odin is the Allfather, not the Somefather.
