Thanks to TikTok foodies, plenty of creative and fun recipes have gone viral. But are they all worth trying? Here are some TikTok food trends that are definitely worth the hype!

If the past year has given us anything, it’s viral TikTok food trends to try.

I love getting creative in the kitchen, and I’m definitely not alone. TikTok foodies have proven themselves a very creative bunch, making quick and fun ways to put twists on classics.

Regardless if you’re an avid TikTok user, or just a casual observer, there’s no denying how much the social media app has influenced what we’re doing in the kitchen. But is every viral food trend worth the hype? As it turns out, some of them really are!

Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona coffee took off on TikTok for sure. This trend was first popularized in South Korea, which is likely why this sweet, whipped treat earned its name from a popular South Korean street candy.

Also sometimes called creamy coffee, it’s easy to make and delicious. The frothy beverage consists of only four simple ingredients: instant coffee, hot water, sugar, and milk (even non-dairy alternatives work just fine!). Pro tip: use a milk frother or hand mixer to beat that fluffy cloud of deliciousness instead of a whisk. It’ll go faster, and it’ll save you from sore arm muscles.

Baked Feta Pasta

I will admit that I was skeptical of baked feta pasta when I first saw it… but I’m here to tell you, it’s so good. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was, and it’s probably the easiest thing I’ve cooked in a very long time.

Depending on the recipe you follow, there are minor differences: garlic roasted in large chunks, or minced and added at the end; fresh basil added on top at the end, or stirred in with pasta and allowed to wilt; utilizing a fresh chile pepper, or opting for pantry-friendly crushed red pepper flakes. Regardless, the basic premise is the same, and it’s so delicious that the popularity caused stores to run out of feta.

Banana Bread

Banana bread isn’t new, of course. However, the baked good got a boost in popularity over the last year thanks to TikTok, and the world is better for it. With everyone staying home and experimenting in the kitchen, there have been tons of bread baking.

Banana bread joins those ranks, filling homes with its comforting, sweet aroma. It’s definitely one of the easier baked goods to make. Plus, it’s a great way to use up those overripe bananas that you forgot about.

No-Yeast Peanut Butter Bread

With everyone trying their hands at baking bread, there was a shortage of yeast there for a while. Never thought I’d see stores run out of yeast, but here we are. That’s when no-yeast recipes started to really take off.

Like banana bread (and plenty of other food trends, to be honest), the recipe for no-yeast peanut butter bread has been around for a long time already. But it definitely got plenty of new attention when it went viral, and it’s worthy of the boost. It’s delicious, but it can be made with other ingredients if peanut butter isn’t your thing.

Air Fry Everything!

Nothing gets more attention on TikTok than the air fryer — at least, as far as food-related content goes. I wouldn’t say that all of the air fryer’s popularity is due to TikTok, but I think it has definitely played a part.

Sure, we all know that potatoes, chicken wings, and veggies are all made better with an air fryer. However, TikTok foodies have shown you can air fry just about anything, from cookie dough to fruit to bread. You can even air fry an open-faced egg sandwich!
