Welcome to Tarot Tuesday!
Each Tuesday I pull a card from my grandmother’s tarot deck and write about what the card could mean for the signs, broken up by element. The elements of the zodiac are Fire (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius), Earth (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn), Air (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius), and Water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces).
I may pull a card from the major arcana, representing our inner wisdom. Or I may pull a suit card, representing outside influences. I may even pull a court card signifying a specific person in your life. This card can help you set your intention for the rest of the week or it can provide a visualization of your current situation. Don’t forget to check your moon and rising signs as well as your sun sign.
The Magician
This week I pulled the Magician card, the card of creativity. This card belongs to the Major Arcana and it is believed that Major cards hold deeper and more specific meaning. In my grandmother’s deck, the Magician is depicted as a masculine figure wearing red and white robes and surrounded by greenery and roses. They hold a wand above their heads and stand beside an altar holding a chalice, an athame, and a pentacle. There is an infinity symbol, also known as a lemniscate over their head. However, the card may look different based on which deck you use. In some decks, the card may be referred to as “The Juggler.”
Though the card’s image may vary from deck to deck, the meaning is often the same. This card represents originality and imagination. The Magician can be a harbinger for good luck. It can symbolize creative success. When this card pops up in a reading, it may indicate a need for good communication and networking. It can also symbolize a powerful ally who can aid you in your aspirations whom you may find yourself attracted to.
The Magician can also represent a dishonest person or a con artist.
What This Card Means for Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
Fire signs are ruled by their passion and drive. The Magician card speaks to your need for a creative outlet.
Aries, you have been working yourself to the bone. Now is the time to focus on your creative projects. Plan a getaway to a nice, relaxing spot where you will be able to charge your artistic batteries.
Leo, my grandmother’s deck is so proud of you! You are following your dream and you are on your way to living the life you have always wanted. Your happiness is contagious and you are able to bring a smile to the faces of those around you.
Sagittarius, if any fire sign can turn their artistic passion into a business, it’s you! Your ambition and charisma will allow you to live the life you have always dreamed about. You may even be able to help other people achieve their dreams.

What This Card Means for Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
Earth signs are ruled by their dedication and desire. The Magician card speaks to your business savvy and your need for a good business partner.
Taurus, as an earth sign you are naturally business-minded. You have dreamed of starting your own business and you are more than capable of doing so. However, do not fool yourself into thinking you have to do it all on your own. Everyone needs help sometimes.
Virgo, your sign is especially connected to this card because this card is connected to your ruling planet, Mercury. You are invaluable to your community and your workplace. Do not let people take advantage of your helpful nature or business acumen.
Capricorn, this is your sign to take your business to the next level. Now is the time to think about investments and social networking. You also want to think about looking for a business partner who can open doors for you and your business.
What This Card Means for Air Signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)
Air signs are ruled by their compassion and independence. The Magician card speaks to your communicative prowess and your networking capabilities.
Gemini, your sign is especially connected to this card because, like Virgo, this card is connected to your ruling planet, Mercury. Have you ever considered a career in social media? You may excel as a marketing expert or social media guru for a company.
Libra, there may have been some struggles in your workplace due to miscommunication. Your communicative skills and peace-keeping nature may help to calm any tensions amongst your co-workers.
Aquarius, you are an exceptional listener and have the ability to think outside of the box, so do not be surprised if people start coming to you for guidance. Help them if you are able to, but don’t stress yourself out trying to solve everyone else’s problem.
What This Card Means for Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)
Water signs are ruled by their empathy and imagination. The Magician card speaks to your inventive ways of thinking and your trusting nature.
Cancer, you need to have more faith in your artistic abilities. You are incredibly creative but you are wary of following your creative dreams. Indulge in your passions. You will be happier for it.
Scorpio, you are on the verge of falling for someone you have collaborated with on a creative pursuit. This could be a very passionate relationship, but be careful that it does not negatively affect the project that you are working on.
Pisces, your empathy is one of your most wonderful attributes. This trait causes you to look for the good in everyone, which is admirable but it can also be dangerous. Be careful of people who would use their guile to take advantage of your sweet nature.
